Ever wondered what's actually in your cannabis besides THC? You're not alone. It's one of the most common questions we get at the counter, and it's a great one to ask.
Cannabinoids are a family of compounds produced by the cannabis plant. THC is the best known of the group, and it's the number most people scan for first on a package. But it isn't the only cannabinoid in there, and looking at it alone gives you a pretty incomplete picture of what you're buying.
Alongside THC, you'll often see CBD, CBG and CBN listed on labels and lab results. Each one shows up in different amounts depending on the strain, the cultivar and how the product was made.
THC — the most abundant cannabinoid in most adult-use products, and the one responsible for the intoxicating effects cannabis is known for.
CBD — non-intoxicating, and commonly found in products that pair it with THC in various ratios. Some folks look for a higher CBD ratio, others don't. It comes down to preference.
CBG — often called a minor cannabinoid because it usually appears in smaller amounts. You'll spot it in some full-spectrum products and blended formulations.
CBN — typically found in smaller amounts and frequently included in blends designed around evening or wind-down routines.
Two products can list nearly identical THC percentages and still feel like completely different experiences. That's because the ratio of cannabinoids to each other, plus the terpenes in the mix, shapes the overall character of a product.
This is why we usually steer people away from shopping by THC percentage alone. A 22% flower with a rich supporting cast of cannabinoids and terpenes might suit you better than a 30% flower that's one-note. The only way to know is to try, take notes and pay attention to what you actually enjoy.
Every product on our shelves lists its cannabinoid content on the label, and most link out to a full Certificate of Analysis through a QR code on the package. That COA is the complete lab breakdown, and it's worth a look before you buy.
If the label reads like a chemistry quiz, that's what we're here for. Bring it to the counter and we'll walk through it with you — no rushing, no jargon.
