Thank You for CANAVERSARY: 4 Years, 3 Stores, One Very Full Parking Lot

By CANA Craft Cannabis

4 years ago we opened a door in Norton and hoped somebody would walk through it.

Last weekend the parking lot was full from noon until we ran out of daylight. That is the whole story of CANAVERSARY, and honestly the whole story of CANA. Thank you.

Here's what the weekend actually looked like, and who made it happen.

The pop-ups

August 28 and 29 brought more brand partners into our lot than we've ever had at once. Tents, samples of conversation rather than product, and a lot of people who make this stuff for a living standing around answering questions from people who buy it.

Friday started with Stingers and Doob Cubes in Norton, and Jeeter running hook-up days at Norton and New Bedford.

Saturday was the big one. Jeeter opened the morning in Fairhaven. In Norton: Regenerative LLC brought the slushie machine, which did not stop running once. PERPETUAL set up a heat press and made custom shirts on the spot — if you're wearing one right now, that's where it came from. DMC and DIME, ACS and BOUTIQ, Farmer's Cut and Holiday, Fernway, Howls, Holistic and M1 all came out and stayed. Ultra Premium Gas ran the DJ set that turned a dispensary parking lot into something closer to a block party.

Thank you to every one of them. Brand partners don't have to spend a Saturday in a parking lot in August. These ones did.

The raffle winners

Winners were drawn on Friday the 28th and came by to collect on Saturday. Congratulations to all four of them, and thank you to everyone who entered. You were the reason the raffle was worth running.

The team

Weekends like this look effortless from the customer side of the counter, which is the point, and which is entirely the work of the people behind it.

Thank you to our team across all three stores. Norton, Fairhaven and New Bedford each ran a full weekend of their own, and every one of them came in early, stayed late, moved tents, restocked shelves, and answered the same question a hundred times as though it were the first. It was one crew working three address

And you

Four years is a long time in this industry. Plenty of stores that opened when we did aren't open now. The reason we are is not the buildout or the menu or anything we'd put in a marketing plan. It's that people kept coming back, and brought other people with them.

Some of you have been shopping with us since the first week. Some of you walked in for the first time on Saturday because a friend dragged you to see what the noise was about. A few of you drove past three other dispensaries to get here, which we notice and don't take for granted.

Thank you. Genuinely.

See you at the counter.
