How CANA Supports Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary

By CANA Craft Cannabis

Tucked away on Eddy Street in Norton, there's a place where rescued animals find peace, safety, and a second chance at life. Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary has been a beloved part of the Norton community for years, and at CANA Craft Cannabis, we're proud to support their mission as part of CANA's $60,000 community giving program across Norton, Fairhaven, and New Bedford in 2025.

About Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary

Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary, located at 37 Eddy Street in Norton, is a haven for rescued farm animals and other creatures in need. Founded and operated by Debra White, the sanctuary provides a permanent, loving home to animals who have been abandoned, neglected, or surrendered.

What sets Winslow Farm apart is its dual role as both a sanctuary and a community destination. The farm opens its doors to visitors on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 3:00 PM, as well as on holiday Mondays, giving families, school groups, and animal lovers the chance to connect with the animals and learn about their stories. For many Norton families, a visit to Winslow Farm is a cherished tradition — a chance for children to meet goats, pigs, horses, and other farm animals up close while learning about empathy, responsibility, and animal welfare.

The sanctuary is an active participant with the Network for Good, and Debra's commitment to the animals in her care is unwavering. Every animal at Winslow Farm receives individualized attention, proper veterinary care, and the space to live out their days in comfort and dignity.

Running a sanctuary of this scale requires significant resources. Feed, veterinary care, shelter maintenance, and land management are constant needs, and the sanctuary relies on admission fees, donations, and community support to sustain its operations.

What CANA's Donation Supports

Our contribution helps Winslow Farm cover the daily costs of caring for its resident animals. From hay and grain to veterinary visits and facility upkeep, every dollar contributes to ensuring that the sanctuary can continue providing safe harbor for animals in need.

Sanctuaries like Winslow Farm operate on thin margins, and consistent community support is what keeps them going. Our donation helps bridge the gap between what admission fees cover and what the animals actually need.

Why This Cause Matters to Us

"Winslow Farm isn't just an animal sanctuary — it's a Norton institution. Families have been visiting for years, kids have learned to love animals there, and countless creatures have found a safe home thanks to Debra's tireless work. Supporting Winslow Farm means supporting something that makes Norton a kinder, more compassionate place to live. That's exactly the kind of community we want to be part of."
