At CANA Craft Cannabis, we believe that being part of a community means showing up for the people who live in it — especially when they need it most. Our Fairhaven dispensary at 240 Bridge Street is more than a place to find quality craft cannabis. It's a neighbor, and neighbors take care of each other.
That's why we're proud to support the First Congregational Church of Fairhaven as part of CANA's $60,000 community giving program across Norton, Fairhaven, and New Bedford in 2025.
First Congregational Church has been a cornerstone of Fairhaven for generations. Located at 34 Center Street in the heart of the village, the church is far more than a place of Sunday worship. It's a hub of community care that extends its mission well beyond its doors.
Among its most impactful ministries are its food pantry and thrift shop, both of which serve residents throughout Fairhaven and the surrounding SouthCoast area. The food pantry provides essential groceries and staples to families and individuals facing food insecurity — a challenge that remains all too real in southeastern Massachusetts. The thrift shop offers affordable clothing and household goods, making sure that everyone in the community can access what they need with dignity.
Under the care of dedicated volunteers and community members like Barbara Bishop, First Congregational Church exemplifies what it means to put faith into action.
CANA's contribution goes directly toward sustaining the church's food bank operations. This means more fresh produce, canned goods, and pantry staples on the shelves for families who count on this resource. It means the doors stay open, the volunteers stay supported, and the mission of feeding Fairhaven's neighbors continues without interruption.
Food insecurity doesn't always look the way we expect. It can be a senior choosing between groceries and medication. A working parent stretching every dollar. A family navigating an unexpected hardship. The food pantry at First Congregational Church meets all of these neighbors with compassion and without judgment.
"No one should go hungry in our community. First Congregational Church has been quietly feeding families in Fairhaven for years, and we're honored to help keep that tradition going. When we think about what it means to be a good neighbor, this is exactly it — showing up for the people right next to you."

This donation is part of CANA's commitment to Fairhaven-area organizations in 2025, an increase from last year's giving. Across our three locations, we're investing $60,000 in the communities we serve because we know that thriving neighborhoods make everything better — for everyone.
At CANA Craft Cannabis, craft isn't just how we approach cannabis. It's how we approach community. One relationship, one cause, one neighbor at a time.
