How CANA Supports The C2 Foundation

By CANA Craft Cannabis

Some legacies are too important to let fade. At CANA Craft Cannabis, we understand the power of honoring those who gave everything to their community. That's why we're proud to support The C2 Foundation as part of our 2025 community giving program — $30,000 invested in Norton organizations alone, and $60,000 across all three CANA locations.

About The C2 Foundation

In July 2021, the town of Norton suffered a profound loss with the passing of Deputy Chief Thomas Petersen. For 33 years, Deputy Chief Petersen served the Norton community with honor, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the people he protected. He was more than a law enforcement officer — he was a true pillar of the community.

In his memory, Michelle Petersen and a group of dedicated community members established The C2 Foundation, a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The foundation's mission is beautifully simple: keep the memory of Deputy Chief Thomas Petersen alive by supporting the various community endeavors he cared so deeply about.

The C2 Foundation channels its efforts into supporting a range of Norton charities and community initiatives. By operating as a force multiplier for local giving, the foundation extends Deputy Chief Petersen's legacy of service in tangible, meaningful ways. Every dollar raised and every initiative supported reflects the values he embodied — selflessness, community, and an unshakable belief that Norton is worth fighting for.

What CANA's Donation Supports

Our contribution to The C2 Foundation supports their ongoing mission to fund community endeavors throughout Norton. Because the foundation directs its resources toward a variety of local causes, our donation has a ripple effect — touching multiple organizations and initiatives across town.

This kind of strategic community giving amplifies impact. Rather than supporting a single program, The C2 Foundation identifies where Norton needs help most and directs resources accordingly. It's community support at its most thoughtful and responsive.

Why This Cause Matters to Us

"Deputy Chief Petersen gave 33 years of his life to protecting and serving Norton. That kind of dedication doesn't just deserve recognition — it deserves continuation. The C2 Foundation ensures that his spirit of service lives on in everything they do. As a Norton business, we feel a deep responsibility to honor the people who shaped this community, and supporting The C2 Foundation is one of the most meaningful ways we can do that."
