We've noticed something at all three of our Massachusetts locations: customers love the idea of Give $10, Get $10. But a handful of small misunderstandings keep good referrals from turning into actual CANA Cash. So let's clear the air.

Myth #1: "I can just bring my friend into the store and we'll both get $10."

Not quite. Your friend needs to enroll in CANA Rewards and create their account before their visit counts as a referral — not after they've already checked out. The good news: signing up takes less than a minute, and it can be done right from a phone. Just have your friend get set up before you head to CANA Norton, CANA Fairhaven, or CANA New Bedford together, and you're all set.

Myth #2: "We have to shop together for the referral to count."

Also not true. Your referral link works whether you're standing next to your friend or three towns away. Share it by text, DM, or however you'd normally send a link — your friend can enroll and shop on their own schedule, and you'll still get your $10 once their first qualifying purchase goes through.

Myth #3: "Any purchase amount counts."

Your friend's first purchase needs to be $20 or more before tax to trigger the reward. Anything under that, and the referral won't process — so it's worth mentioning to a first-timer before they check out.

Myth #4: "There's a limit on how many friends I can refer."

There isn't one. Refer one friend or refer fifteen — every new customer who signs up through your link and completes a qualifying first purchase earns you another $10 in CANA Cash. Myth #5: "My referral credit and VIP perks cancel each other out."
